Profile: Lisa (cheesecake22)

My mother and grandfather named me Lisa. Since I've struggled with gender throughout my life, I've always tried to find nicknames and other names that suit me, but nothing else fits the way it does.

I live in the South-coast area of Massachusetts, USA. I'm 18 years old. I attended an agricultural high school ad graduated in June 2011. My high school was the most open and awesome place to be, filled with great people. I have a group of really interesting friends to say the least. Now I'm going on to college in Western Massachusetts, 2 hours from home. Wish me luck.

I enjoy writing novels, reading books and short stories, drawing, swimming, painting, walking, listening to music, being with friends and family, travel, culture, and shopping. I'm quite obsessed with summertime and the beach; my friends call me a sun freak. I love to swim and just relax in the sun. I love eating good food, but I'm not fat about it.

I'm a complete nerd and I'm very happy with it. When I finish a book or a movie, I like to discuss it. I'm always trying new things, but it's just in my personality to return to my love of reading and fantasy. Imagination and creativity captures my mind and there is a very rare moment when I am actually bored.

My absolute favorite thing about my life is people. I love my family, my friends, my girlfriend, my acquaintance, people I pass on the street, internet friends, people I meet for only one/a few days, random kind strangers. I love meeting new people, as well as spending quality time with my already-people. My true reason for existing is to grow up and somehow help people, and to write novels about people on the side. (:

My passion is psychology, including cognitive behavioral therapy, counseling psychology, forensic psychiatry, and general psychiatry. I am thusfar undecided which branch I will focus on during college and into my career, but I do know that psychology itself is fascinating to me.

I've been avoiding the subjects of sexuality and gender on and off for five years now, but I finally accept it. I even have a steady girlfriend, Macey. (1/16/09) She and I have struggled through many things, always holding onto love and honesty even when both seem difficult to feel and experience. I love her.
