Hey everyone! Bit of a panic here. Here goes:
Recently I was informed that my cross country team is going to have before school practices. This means that I will have to use the communal showers. No stalls, curtains, or anything. Now, normally, I would be fine with doing this, no biggie (I mean, it's weird and SUPER awkward, but you gotta do what you gotta do). However, because my whole school knows that I'm gay, I've already received some pretty harsh remarks about this topic. What should I do!? I have to shower before school, but I don't want everyone thinking that I'm looking at their junk!

My advice is that you just keep your eyes up that way nobody can accuse you of looking at their junk. And if they still do, just say "Don't flatter yourself" and walk away. If there's any real problems, like you're being constantly harassed, you might want to mention it to your coach. Maybe he can talk some sense into them or, if there's still a problem, there might be another place you can shower (Might not be the best option because I'm not a fan of segregation and it sort of gives the idea that YOU'RE the one causing problems just by existing, but it might make you feel more comfortable.)
Try not to freak out though. You don't even know if there's going to be a problem at all. Just live one day at a time and if there is a problem later on, you can deal with it then. Thinking too much about this is just going to stress you out.

If you're super uncomfortable, you could try talking to your coach/teacher about a different arrangement. Or you could talk to your teammates and see if it's as big of a problem as you think it might be. Good luck!

Tell them to wear some sort of underwear? I mean if you have to shower, you may as well bring clean underwear, so if they shower in the dirty pair and then put on the clean ones, problem solved?
Tell them to grow up, Wear a blindfold in there, just don't shower?

They're going to think what they're going to think wether or not you shower with them. In my opinion I think you should not let it seem like it feels so akward even though it does because people will pick up on how your change in behaviour based on this awkwardness. I hope this helps.
