I'm 19, almost 20, and I find it disgusting that my tax dollar helps pay its way to keep me in the closet. I'm paying these people to pass bills that say "it's illegal for you to have group sex" and "Well, too bad for you, but you can't have [anal] sex with anyone under 18." while all I hear about in my neighborhood is a bunch of straight 16 and 17 year old kids humping each others' brains out and having "Accidental babies." Something that could never happen in a homosexual relationship. (Not that I'm putting down heterosexual relationships or anything, but I find in this day and age, "gay vs straight" shouldn't even be an issue. Not even a question...) Here's where I read it:

I'm happy to find out I'm gay at a fairly...late age. But for those of you who are finding out at say, SIXTEEN, and live in Canada, you'll be upset to find out you still can't legally do anything. And regardless of your age, you can't do anything with more than one person.

okay... Laws on sex are really pretty stupid.
Who is going to stop you from having an orgy? Is the government breathing down your neck during intercourse?
As long as they dont know about it, its not illegal
as for the age of consent laws well thats a little different.

Ridiculous. It makes no sense whatsoever to have different ages of consent for straight couples and gay couples. I honestly can't think of one reason for this law. Even from a homophobic point of view, there's really no point in making the age of consent two years later. This is a stupid law that should have been abolished long ago.

This did, does, and always will baffle me.
How can we, as citizens, pay taxes, but be restricted rights that others are allowed? That is a very key element of paying taxes; rights. As heterosexual relationships are allowed marriage, it's discriminatory to not allow queers them as well. Not as long as we pay taxes in our countries anyway.
But I don't believe in the institution of marriage, so I'm baffled, but otherwise rather indifferent. ^_^

In Russia, there is a different age of consent for every orientation and then some, like if you are gay your age of consent is X, if you're a lesbian, it is Y, and if you are straight, it is Z...and then it gois into subsections like you can do this at this age and that at another age. It's so fucking confusing.

Ugh, it used to be like that in the UK till a few years ago, and it took so much work to change the age of consent laws
It's ridiculous, and frustrating and wrong
