Okay, basically I had an idea that might be totally horrible but it could also be pretty freaking good because every time I'm on here there is NO ONE in the chat room. I would love to have chat conversations with the people on here but there's just never anyone in.
So I was wondering if maybe any of you guys thought it would be a good idea to create some sort of weekly or bi-weekly time slot where a good amount of people plan to be on chat. That way we can all have real conversations in more real time.
So say we plan for every Sunday night at 6 Eastern Standard Time (that's a completely random time)then each person could figure out what time that would mean for them to be on. I know it's gonna be kind of inconvenient for some because we're all from different countries but we could figure something out. (For example people in Europe could figure out a time, and US could have a diff time ect..)
I don't know if anyone would have any interest in that or suggestions on how to make that idea work better but any sort of feedback involving this idea would be awesome <3

One suggestion is using GMT, since that's the time that's shown on the QA site at the bottom. That way nobody gets confused about the time and misses it.

Helpful hint, it usually gets more active in chat around this time of day..or night..

Scheduling chats ahead of time does seem like a good idea to get more people active at once, but nobody should feel left out. Chat is open for anyone who wants to use it (responsibly)!
Have fun

This is an interesting idea, but it wouldn't work, as we are all from different parts of the world. Also some people are only able to get on here via ipod or phone, so they are not able to access the chat at all.

Merely planning for a time where anyone who is available can come on wouldn't hurt anything, and would be a good way of getting many members on at once instead of sporadic members on randomly throughout the day. It does seem like the timeslot would have to be chosen fairly randomly though.
For instance, the most represented country on QA is the United States. Using that knowledge, we can choose the middle timezone for the States (Central time) and pick a reasonable hour like say 8PM. 8PM Central time would equate to:
Pacific Time Zone: 6PM
Mountain Time Zone: 7PM
Eastern Time Zone: 9PM
Atlantic Time Zone: 10PM
Western European Time Zone: 2AM
Central European Time Zone: 3AM
Eastern European Time Zone: 4AM
North/South Australia Time Zone: 10:30 AM
West Australia Time Zone: 9AM
Queensland Australia Time Zone: 11AM
Etc. I got tired of listing them haha, but you can convert into your own time using this website. Pick a day like Sunday and boom, you have the best time for everyone. Granted, it's not great for everyone, but it's the best we can do considering we have the entire world coming together here. Pick another day like Saturday and you can choose a different area of the world to schedule around, like 8PM Central European time and convert into everywhere else.

The times you just gave, like 8PM Central time, is usually around when chat starts picking up anyway.
I'm on the East coast and at 9 pm - 1am it's 'usually' pretty active, unless no one wants to be that loner sitting in chat waiting for people, but usually someone does it, and it can get pretty active.
