Just wondering if anyone else gets anxiety on QA after they post a forum topic/blog/Exhibition or send a message via the post office.

Yup . I've even hyperventilated before about it and then had to take my inhaler. Sometimes QA stresses me out but it's usually a stress reliever.

Yesss, I always hate sending messages first or saying the wrong thing or posting something that might not be accepted. I freak out and wish there was an undo button :c

Totally. I've been trying to be more social using QA too, but I'm really introverted an awkward so I always freak out.

Only when I debate.
I was content to just tack it on to my Aspergers syndrome, but hey, perhaps that part of my anxiety bouts could be completely me

Yep. It's main reason why there are no threads started by me and I practically never make the first move to message someone. I still get twitchy when I post blogs, so... Maybe it'll fade. I rarely get nervous posting replies now when to begin with it would take a while to work up the nerve to hit the 'add' button.

Always, which is one of the main reasons why I kind of float in and out of here quite frequently, never staying long enough to make any aquaintances, let alone friends. Guess that's just the way it goes. lol

Guys, this is interesting and makes me a bit sad! No-one should ever feel nervous about contributing on QA, the whole purpose and mission of this site is to be somewhere where you can express yourself to your best potential.
Are you guys talking about personal anxieties that apply to how you interact with QA, or is there something we're doing wrong / something we can do to help?

On my part it's all personal, nothing to do with the site. I've got social anxiety disorder, and it's a tricky thing to get away from once it's got you caught.
To be perfectly honest, this site is actually one of the most welcoming I've ever been a part of (which is why I've stuck around for so long, longer than anywhere else anyway), and I've never experienced any trouble with anyone or anything here.

Speaking for myself, I have anxiety in general with just about anything so for me it's nothing that QA is doing wrong. It's more of my own mind holding myself back, fear of being judged because of past experiences with places other than QA, and things like that, if that makes sense.
I love QA, but I guess I'm just more comfortable and less anxious being a lurker instead of a poster. *shrug*

@ thisway: aww don't worry about it! (at least don't worry about it from me) it's sort of just me... I mean I know people on here who will think/grumble to each other badly of others just cos they're trying to get out pent up feelings and so sometimes I am afraid those people are going to see something I wrote and think bad things about me but I guess there's not much I can do about it . I doubt you could do anything about it either. Some people are just going to be that way. You just can't please everyone. For the most part that's where my anxiety comes from. It also comes from the fact that I've never been so open until QA about certain things in my life and I don't want people to think weirdly of me; even if there are a million other posts on that topic, I still feel like people will freak out the most if they read that I admitted to something and will judge me for it. So half of it is because of me and my anxiety and half of it is because some people on here like to grumble about other people who post things that they don't think should be posted or whatnot.

What my bro up there said. I do believe alot of the anxiety is rather personal, and in my case, it's most likely clinical.
On the other hand, QA is the first place I've ever been so interactive, so I'm certain, for me, there is nothing you guys are lacking to spur the anxiety.

My anxiety is totally personal. I'm just a total introvert, and this is the first time I've really tried to open up and be active somewhere, so that's got me nervous.

Mine is totally personal! I get a bit of anxiety every time I send a text message (no matter to whom!). Heck, my entire life is sort of a pot of angst...

The only time I feel that way is when I say something about my views- religious, political, etc... I'm just used to everyone arguing with me about my views and trying to get me to change because that's what everyone does in real life... (And of course, I used to always get a bit nervous when I talked to Stephanie- because who doesn't get nervous when talking to someone they like?)
The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry. -Ernest Hemingway

On the serious threads of QA, sometimes even welcoming a new member to QA. I feel really anxious, even though I want to contribute to a thread or say something... I get really nervous and often times I just end up not saying anything. I don't really know if its my shyness or something, but QA still pretty much feels overwhelming to me, thread-wise. :/ kinda embarrassing seeing as it already says 'grand elder' for me.

It's actually really nervewracking, making the introduction topic.
But my stress on here is all personal. I freak out when I send messages to people, freak out worse if they don't respond (did I say the wrong thing??), and thus don't message people.
But I'm good with making topics. I make topics like some people eat candy.

If its a video or a topic I'm really passionate about then yes I get nervous. But then I think to myself that you people probably don't know me in the real world so I calm down a bit

Yes that has definitely happened to me. I get nervous when I'm on QA sometimes. I start getting butterflies and such.
I noticed Robin was worried it was something the QA staff is doing wrong... No! I believe it's just shyness and nervousness and desire for approval and such.

I do a fair bit, I am always afraid I'll lose my friends if I say something they think is wrong.
