A bit unfair that he has to keep the door open when he's got guys over, they don't always have to be boyfriends.
But it's a nice letter anyways.Emoticon: Smile :)

I think my dad would've supported me if he was alive.

It's really cool for me to see this, though dad/son things always do make me sentimental.

Aww. Lucky hypothetical little bugger Emoticon: Tongue :p. Think the dad will actually use it if the kid turns out to be lgbt?

And did anyone else read the original disowning letter? I cried.

Both of these letters brought a tear to my eye.

I read about the original letter, where the Dad disowned. Although I was sad, I was partially glad that at least that's as far as the dad went. You hear all sorts of stories of people being murdered for being LGBT, and I was glad it never came to that.

However, this letter (and one that someone linked below in a comment: http://evolequals.com/2012/08/...ng-father-4-2/)

made me feel really happy. Idk, I just like it so much when father/son LGBT issues work out and the dad isn't homophobic and omg I'm just in such a good mood now ^_^

This really is awesome Emoticon: Smile :) My favorite part was the post-script:
P.S. Thanks to a few key Supreme Court decisions and the Marriage Equality Act of 2020, you're legally able to get married. When I was your age, that was just an idea. Pretty cool, huh?

@Xeffy, This is a hypothetical letter written to the father's future son, who won't realize he's gay until well into the 2020s. So the author is just creating a sort of hopeful fiction that in 2020 a law will be passed legalizing equal marriage throughout the US. Hypothetical letter, hypothetical law. Regardless, beautiful Emoticon: Smile :)
