I'm in desparate need of a job and I applied to Chic-Fil-A before all of this big huge mumbo jumbo crap started happening. They finally called me this afternoon and told me that I got the job. I'm not sure if I should accept it, though.
I definitely do not agree with Dan Cathy's beliefs on marriage, or how corporate handled the situation. Other than that, I can't really see why I shouldn't accept. For the most part, they have decent values. And you have Sunday off.
Opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Take it if you want it. It's not like everyone who works for the company is a homophobe. I'd be willing to bet there are even a few high ranking executives with certain... Inclinations their bosses don't know about. Anyway, its not like it's morally wrong to work for a company with a douchebag owner.

i think simon's plan is a great one. You should totally do it.
I'm torn about even going there nowadays, though I love their food. I've also got this really cool Chickfila tote bag that i probably need to ditch now

I don't eat out much I mostly eat at home but honestly you need the money and it's not like you will be working there forever.

As much as i'd like to to watch the place crumble, money is a very VERY good thing that needs to be worked for. So I say take the job and then follow Simon's plan, maybe you could turn it into a sci-fi about evil buisnessmen. Call it The Matrix Chicafilation.
There is no hope without salvation, there is no life without destruction, in this desolate world we can only rely on the unknown for our minds shame the very ground.

Sure. You don't have to believe in everything a company stands for to work there. Unless they're pushing their beliefs on you or making you do something you really don't agree with, then I don't see the problem. I'm a vegetarian and work at Wendy's.
If it really bothers you working for a homophobic company though, take the job, but keep looking for another one. That way you have spending money right now, but you don't have to work somewhere you're not comfortable.

I say take it. It's not like working there benefits homophobic organizations and it certainly doesn't make you a homophobe. If YOU really aren't comfortable working there after a week or so, apply elsewhere then ditch CFA, but dont let anyone else tell you to quit just because THEY don't like that you work there.
You laugh at me because I'm different. I laugh at you because you're all the same.

I say take it as well! And if your conscience is acting up just think to yourself that through them paying you to work there they have less money to give to repressive organisations!

Personally, I reckon that if you feel comfortable accepting the job, then you should go for it. It's a source of money, and by working there, it's not like you are supporting his homophobic beliefs. You're just working...
Love Simon's idea... XD

If anything, you DEFINITELY should take it, because then whatever they're paying you in wages is guaranteed not to be going to anti-gay organisations. You're doing the LGBT community a favour by taking a job there ;3
