So, lately I've been hearing alot of talk about gay people from my siblings and friends who don't know I'm bi.
Btw, by talk, I mean insults.

Am I just thinking it happens more cause I've accepted myself, or do people really always talk like that?

unfortunately people talk like that.
and it does hurt, a lot.
i hear it from other students who talk about fags in pride, and the ones who work as yard duties (who, the one they make fun of, is our school's GSA advisor, and was there when i came out, so i will love her indefinately)
i hear it from one of my managers and other coworkers who dont know im gay, who say shit like that while im trying to put ticket in games right next to them
and i hear it from my family, who know im gay, yet are appalled by the green lantern, transgenders, and "those gay people in the booty shorts"

i can take it from some people, like my friends who have proven loyalty to me, but from the people who havent seen me at my worst, and accepted it, i will never fully forgive them for it

I actually didn't run into that kind of talk at all until I moved onto a military base. Around here, if anything is bad, it's "gay", "f@ggy", or "queer". Seriously, I haven't gone one day without hearing someone use an LGBT term in a derogatory manor. Although gay people themselves are almost never directly slandered, people (especially those who are biologically male) who aren't gender normative make everyone super uncomfortable.

However, in my home town, people who have anything negative to say get immediately shut down Emoticon: Smile :)
