This morning I've moderated a little collection of posts in which members were talking about exchanging e-mail addresses, real addresses and money for the purposes of sharing their own music.

Sharing these three things is a bad idea for your own privacy and safety, and absolutely against our Terms. Please stay in control of your personal data by keeping it to yourself.

To anyone who wishes to sell their music (or perhaps something else), you do have options. For example, you can put things up on eBay and link to that, as eBay has its own user protections. If you are not old enough for an eBay account you would need assistance from your parents. Alternatively, Google can provide a range of solutions for sharing and selling your music digitally online.

In essence, please keep your personal information personal and use legitimate, safe means of sharing.
