Christopher Rice: A Density of Souls
This book is brilliant, about 15 year old Stephen.
Rice has 4 other gay books
Common Sons by Ronald L. Donaghe
At Swim, Two Boys by Jamie O'Neill
This is the best gay novel I have ever read, but is quite literary, not easy to read, and quite long, but really moving story.

There's a series by Libba Bray called the Gemma Doyle trilogy ('The Great and Terrible Beauty', 'Rebel Angels', & 'The Sweet Far Thing') with lesbians in it, although that tidbit doesn't come out until the last book.
Still, lots of hints throughout the first and second, and I'm sure you could guess before then XD They're really good.
We're all under the upper hand, and go mad for a couple grams. And we don't wanna go outside tonight.

Look for any books by DomLuka. I've read Desert Dropping, The Ordinary Us, The Long Way and Into the Fishbowl. They are all really captivating.

Down To The Bone by Mayra Lazara Dole is amazing. I just finished reading it. It can be sad but it's also so good.

@ Lizzie,
Dont you feel like Ash is one of those books that really really really needs to be turned into a movie ?!?!?!
I bought it about a year ago and the first time I read it I kept imagining how awesome it would be if it were a movie with a really creative director like Tim Burton or something.
