I'm watching the news right now (because I'm far too lazy to change the channel from what I'd been watching before).
There was just a story about a college near here (I already managed to forget what school it was). There was a gay student, and on Sunday morning when he woke up, he saw that someone had carved the word "FAG" into his dorm door. He was understandably upset, and reported it to the college, and it (obviously) ended up making the news.
I was VERY happy to see that the news was covering a case about homophobia. It shows me that the world really IS starting to accept the LGBT community more.
What do you guys think about it?

I'd consider that a total bittersweet moment. On the one hand, it's very frustrating that such a thing would happen (though I suppose they're bound to). On the upper hand, if it made the news that means a lot of people were against it and maybe upset by it. It wasn't just tossed to the side, as it probably would have been I the past, and this was simply an etch in a door! This is definitely a step forward

I know people like the news being aware of the LGBT community's problems but this seems too over the top. I mean the word FAG being carved into your door is pretty minor unless things like it have been happening to the person over a long period of time. I'm sorry but this seems like the news has become desperate for stories.

If it changes anything, this happened during the school's pride week/month (can't remember which) event thing they had going on...

This is a good thing that the media is finally taking our side. however we've still got quite a bit of fighting left to do.

Sometimes people disappoint me.
Why can't people just let everyone else be
Who the hell cares who you're attracted too
Or what you do in the bedroom.
It's not any of their business.

At the very least it shows bullying is met with moral outrage, which is something to celebrate.
