Moved from OpenZone to About QA |
Ok, so I know a lot of people on QA arent out to anyone in real life or at least not their parents. Sometimes I notice that members disappear without giving a reason or telling anyone they're leaving. Sometimes I think maybe their parents found out about the site and banned them from coming on here or whatever, but basically I was just wondering...Has anyone ever had someone they've been talking to on QA just disappear on them ??

Not recently, but when I first joined there was this really chill girl that I used to message every day and one day she just stopped coming on. :l

They could be busy. Sometimes my life gets a little overwhelming and I just forget to check my accounts on various sites for weeks or even months at a time. When I had a break up last year I stopped coming on here for a few months.
Or they could've forgotten their password/username. That happened to me once. I still can't get on that account haha
Their computer/phone could've broken.
They could be camping.
They could be homeless now.
They could've missed a power bill or something.
They could be out of the country... Bills are insane when you're in another country.
Or, morbid as it is, they could've died. It's happened before.
It sucks that they disappear but all you can do is hope they come back one day I suppose. :/ definitely lots of reasons for why they're not on

They're probably not dead. My ex lives in Scotland and when she didn't answer me I used to have weird morbid fantasies about her death and just knowing that no one would've been able to tell me. It was horrible.

Oh I remember when she first started! She seemed nice. Doesn't she live in Alaska? Maybe a black out happened or a blizzard was about to happen and she closed her profile.

it happens every now and then. people disappear for their own reasons.
stephsteph disappeared for a while (although she did explain it in a blog first)
her mother found QA and she was pushed out the closet, then her mother took it overboard, (it's a long messy personal story)
teresa disappeared a little while ago and doesn't come in anywhere near as often anymore. (the loss of teresa made me sad ) that was only because her compu broke.
i haven't seen SHIZAM in here for ages, and i rarely see her on fb anymore. (that one also made me sad )
sarah (lovemeshoot?? i think that was her username) disappeared completely, it seems
and i haven't seen cody (codyco) in ages.
they disappear, for a variety of reasons.
you just have to enjoy them while you can. i have most of my good QA friends on fb now so it's harder to loose them.
it will be alright in the end, and if it's not alright, it's not the end yet.

Now and then someone I talk to disappears for awhile then they pop back on randomly. It's awesome when that happens.
I have had a few people that I used to chat with on a fairly regular basis completely vanish though and I sometimes wonder what they are up to these days.

I hate when people disappear from QA D: It's happened a bit to me, but most people I get close to I add on Facebook. I know one QAer I was close to died, others who just closed their accounts for no reason, some were forced to close it by parents, etc. So, it just happens. That's why I recommend adding any QAer you're close to on another networking site, just in case a homophobic parent discovers their QA, or something else happens.
