Rick Santorum has pulled himself out of the US Republican Race. This means that Romney will more than likely be the Republican candidate for the polls in Nov. 2012
What are your thoughts on this?
I'm personally happy about this. I know he barely had a chance at catching up with Romney but it was still possible. NOT ANYMORE!! I'm in no way saying I like Romney, in fact I think it's safe to say that I hate him, but he is still better than Santorum in my opinion.
Thoughts? Do you think the results of the Republican race would be any different if he didn't withdraw? Or do you think that this won't really affect much in the race?

I do not think it will have much of an effect. Romney was going to win anyway. Despite that, it's nice to see Santorum go. To me, he was nothing but a reactionary theocrat. That is not what I want to see in a leader of this country.

The only reason Frothy dropped out now was to save face, as he was already on course for an embarrassing defeat in this home state of Pennsylvania.

@Jimmy - I agree, to an extent, that Ron Paul would be a good president. I think Obama is our "best bet" guy, but that's beside the point. I wouldn't be all that disappointed at if Ron Paul became our president. I'm honestly mad that he probably won't even make it on the November ballot...

@ Ryan, Drew
Ron paul vs obama would be a great election, I think the turnout in voters would be much higher than past elections.
I know alot on here support obama but i know we can agree on one thing, I hate romney and santorum.

I am SO happy he's out. Half of the things he said were completely insane, he would've set this country back 50 years socially. I was so embarrassed when he won in Iowa...
@Kai: I love it! That's awesome.

Dude, I REALLY HATED Rick Santorum. A lot. HATE.
When I found out he dropped out in Study Hall (I sit by my teacher and he was reading the news paper; I saw the title "Santorum drops out") I JUMPED UP and screamed "YES!". He looked at me, like "Helena, calm down."
I said sorry, flinged my arms back down, hit the girl next to me on TOTAL accident and said "Sorry" again.
But, I am VERY happy he is out.

I saw it on the news the day he withdrew, I just happened to turn on the TV, which is crazy because I rarely do unless Glee's on, and I literally started screaming and jumping up and down and yelling for my sister to come see. So, yeah. I was just glad to see him go, even if he didn't have much of a chance. (I don't actually live in America, but my girlfriend does, so...)
