Hello, all!

As you might have guessed from the title, my name's Jesse. I grew up and am attending university in Colorado, but I was born in Alaska.

I found QA by doing a Google search for "lgbt forum" because I honestly have no idea what the heck is going on with my sexuality/gender identity, and while I'm okay with not being sure, I thought it'd be nice to find a place to talk with non-cisgendered people my own age (which is 17--I don't think I got to that up in the first paragraph).

Ah... What else was there?

With me, asking a favorite book is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child (unless you asked my parents, in which case they'd obviously tell you it's me... ;D ). I will say, though, that I very much enjoyed the Harry Potter, Inheritance, and Abhorsen series, as well as a number of dystopian and post apocalyptic books. Fahrenheit 451 is one that sticks out in my memory. =D Short stories are nice as well. One of my favorites is Harrison Bergeron (sp?) by Kurt Vonnegut.

Along that same line, two of my favorite movies are Children of Men and The Road (one of the few book to movie transitions I've enjoyed).

Bands. I like a lot of them. My dad says I have an eclectic taste in music, and I tend to go through phases where I'll only listen to one type. Right now, I am very much enjoying korean pop. The boys are just so pretty... o_o I don't know how many people will actually relate, but I'll list a few bands anyway: SHINee, BIGBANG, Block B, B.A.P, NU'EST, 2ne1

On the other end of the spectrum, I also like power metal. I haven't found many bands, though, just Sonata Arctica and Dragon Force. So, if anyone'd like to recommend some, that'd be awesome. =D And there's this other band, that I absolutely love right now. They're name is Van Canto, and they're an a cappela metal band. It's freaking awesome.

Minecraft and writing are another two things I like.

Hi Jess! Welcome to QA!

I like your intro by the way. And with what you said,I'm sure QA will be a big help for you.

Btw, my name's Nique, 17, Lesbian from the Philippines.

I like your taste in books, and my favorite series of all time(ever since) is Harry Potter hahaha.

Kpop, well... I don't listen to the ones on your list except a few from 2ne1 but I do know those bands. XD

Writing! Yeah, I can definitely relate with you on that particular subject. I love writing, though I've only been able to share a limited amount of the things I write online. I'm in the closet and some of the things in my notebooks are LGBT oriented, so I can't post them on one of my accounts, unless I post them here, which I haven't decided on yet. But yeah, this s getting long.

Once again! Welcome to QA! Feel free to PM me if you need/want to talk to someone. Emoticon: Smile :)

Hi Jesse!

I'm Crys, androgynous pansexual from Australia.

I completely understand how hard it is to choose favourite books! I love them all! (mostly) Abhorsen is awesome and I was recently debating whether to read them again Emoticon: Smile :) I haven't read Inheritence, though all my friends tell me too Emoticon: Tongue :p and i stopped reading Harry Potter after Order of the Phoenix lol

Children of Men was a great film Emoticon: Smile :) have you watched V for Vendetta? As far as dystopian premises go, it's one of the best in my opinion ;)

I am also of an eclectic persuasion with music Emoticon: Grin :D you may wanna take a peek at the list on my profile haha I must say Kpop is great and man can those guys dance! I like all the bands you mentioned plus Super Junior and DBSK/TVXQ Emoticon: Smile :)

Hmm I shall have to go through my trove and recommend you some power metal Emoticon: Smile :) i'll get back to you on that one Emoticon: Smile :)

I also enjoy the odd spot of Minecraft Emoticon: Smile :) the sheer possibilities in that game are awesome, I'm also a writer ans it's been a dream of mine to someday make a living from it Emoticon: Smile :)

So yes, welcome to the wonderful place that is QA and here's hoping you'll have a long and happy (and sad, angry and all those fun emotions) stay!

Hey there, Jesse, welcome. Emoticon: Smile :)

I was in Colorado a few weeks ago, but I've never been to Alaska, I really want to go...anyone I've ever talked to who's been there has said it's really beautiful.

Some of us here are cisgendered, but everyone here is really nice and friendly no matter who you are or what sort of questions you are going through. Emoticon: Rainbow Pride (p)

Btw, I also like Fahrenheit 451 and Harrison Bergeron (or anything by Vonnegut)... and I love Sonata Arctica and Dragon Force! I'm going to have to check out this Van Canto, an "a capella metal" band does sound pretty awesome. Emoticon: Grin :D
