Which do u prefer to be called(or lesbian if ur a lesbian). For me, homosexual sounds so old school and it kind of reminds me of those discovery channel guys: "witness the homosexual in its natural habitat". It sounds too sciency for my taste. I prefer gay or lesbian. I really like what Jill Bennett's take on it:

It's hilarious

I like being called pansexual which means I look past the gender of the person and focus on the personality. I think that really describes how I work as far as sexual preferences and such.

Around my mom, I use the term "homosexual". I think she's uncomfortable with the word "gay", she sounds so awkward when she says it. Around everyone else, I use "gay".

Neither. O.o I prefer 'queer'. I dunno why...
The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry. -Ernest Hemingway

It actually annoys me when people call me "homosexual" or "a homosexual". I just prefer to be called gay :3

I'd prefer to be called gay...if anyone I knew knew about it that is...the word gay is short, simple, to the point, and sounds more emotional than "Homosexual"

I don't mind anything Gay, homosexual, queer. It's all the same to me to be honest. But I use gay more often cuz it's the shortest to say out of all of them XD Haha, that makes me sound lazy. Which isn't far from the truth…
"Are you ok?" "Yeah... I'm just tired." T orn apart, I nsecure, R eally faking a smile, E xtremely sad, D rowning in my tears "...yeah just tired."

I prefer being called gay, or fabulous (hahaha just kidding, I just make jokes like that all the time...) but seriously, just gay works for me. (PS: does it make me a bad person because I make and laugh at gay jokes even though I'm gay? Because there was this funny joke on TV the other night, it was The Cleveland Show, and Cleveland is like "What's the gays word for good, is it delicious." Terry his gay friend is like "no we use good" and Cleveland is like "well I like delicious" and that cracked me up...)

I prefer gay for myself, but when describing the lgbt community, I really like the sound of queer.

Gay, les, and queer are the easiest. They're all 4 less syllables than homosexual, 2 less than fabulous, and 1 less than lesbian and lesbo.
Yes I'm lazy enough that extra syllables factor into my decision making.

I like queer. It just seems so all inclusive of just not being perfectly straight that it gives me lots of wiggle room to do what I like and not feel constricted by whatever terms I might have used to describe myself to people. Plus it's just a cool word.

I use queer if I feel in an inclusive mood.
gay In a normal mood
homosexual if i'm feeling smart. (everyone knows long words sound smarter, don't deny it.)
and fabulous if I feel fabulous.
it will be alright in the end, and if it's not alright, it's not the end yet.

Sometimes instead of pansexual I like to just say gay. I'm a lesbian but I like the sound of gay sometimes it's short sweet and to the point.

Gay, because it's simple and universal.
Homosexual sounds like what someone like Rick Santorum would call us...
