Some of you know that I am bi. I have been dating girls and boys since I was 14. Women have always been the easier road to travel, seeing how one doesn't have to explain heterosexuality, yet homosexuality calls for "coming out".

Though I have never experienced it myself, I heard about certain discrimination withing GLBT community towards those who identify as bisexual. Is it because we are considered the ones "with choice" or is because some think bi people are cowards?

Nah i think saying they're greedy is wrong...I'd say that in my opinion its because they're still part of the straight community as well...and so it could be seen as easier to come out as Bisexual because you still have the option of marraige, children etc etc rather than if you were completly gay or lesbian.....i dont know...Emoticon: Confused :s

We could all take a lesson from crayons - some are bright, some are beautiful, some are dull, some are short, some are tall, and some have wierd names...But they all have to learn to live in the same box.

I believe the discrimination you talk about is very real. I never understood bi peoples so I guess I was once a part of it too (not anymore).
Maybe these ideas, that many people have, can help to show other points of view and why might the discrimination exist:
-Its impossible not to have a preference. You have to like guys or girls just a little more.
-A bisexual person is really gay but unable to decide/face it.
-Bisexuals are pervs who would have sex with anything that comes infront of them.
-Bi people have it the easy way since they're only 'half queer'.

Of course they're wrong. Tell us how you stand on this points.

Oh, yeh. Certainly it's a discrimination, I know I'm VERY wary about dating bi girls, and almost won't even consider it. Mainly? It's a trust issue, and I'm never sure if they're just doing it for show. I'm far more trusting of guys when they say they're bi, maybe becuase I have a few bi male friends, but girls? No way. And it sucks, beucase it eliminates a lot of cool people off the bat, but I just don't trust 'em. :/

I almost think bi people have it harder than gay/lesbian.

I?m a bi female and I can sort off see your point ,it?s the girls who do it for show that give people that opinion but all I know is that if like someone you like them just like anyone else

Oh, I still like them, certainly. But my huge crush at the moment will kiss me, cuddle me, snuggle, even a few mildly naughty things. But? It's all for show. So, yeh, I'm pretty well biased on it, given my current circumstances. ??

I hold no grudges or hatred towards bisexuals, because if I do I realize I would be a hypocrite... I ask for tolerance myself and it would be quite wrong of me to turn around and discriminate bisexuals. They exist and deserve just as much as rights as everybody else. Bisexuals are both attracted to males and females. There is nothing wrong with that.

I agree with what Brit said about it being harder for bisexuals than it is for homosexuals. When homophobes see a bisexual with someone of the same sex they ask them why they can't ignore their attraction to the same sex and only date the opposite sex. Gay people who don't like bisexuals can do the same thing when they see a bisexual with someone of the opposite sex.

it's amazing how many people don't think that bisexuality exists. one of my gay female friends doesn't believe in bisexuality.

Also, I have heard an opinion, ridiculous clearly, that bi people are the ones who are confused about their sexuality.

You crack me up, Brit.

This is like a contest of the silliest opinion on bisexuality.
