Briskly bony,
Threateningly thin.
You want to be tiny,
Bones and skin.
With Ana watching you cannot fail,
Starve until you're small and frail.
Every calorie is a battle,
Every meal is a war,
That sends you to the bathroom,
Knees to the floor.
Food can't save you,
Hunger will.
Dropping scale numbers,
are our only thrill.
When I look in the mirror, a fat girl's what I see,
I see this big hippo of a girl, this cow that is me.
Sugar disgusts me, carbs are bad.
So starve and purge,
Until you've gone mad.
As the scale numbers get lower,
My body moves slower.
As I'm wasting, wasting
wasting away.
Don't eat tommorrow,
Purge today.
And I keep fading,
fading away.
My bones start to show,
As I watch the fat go.
But inside, I slowly begin to fall apart.
I couldn't see I was fine from the start.
But now it's too late,
So recovery can wait.
Let the self-destruction go on,
Until I'm just about gone.
Then one day I broke:
I cried, 'Mamma mia!'
Once upon a time,
I had anorexia.

So, this is my description of my eating disorder. I am in no way promoting pro-ana.

Criticism would be greatly appreciated(:

This is very touching. I don't have any real knowledge of literacy so I can't critique your poem but I will say I believe you did a great job writing this.

Woah, normally I'm a pretty hard judge on poems (or at least, I think I am xD) but this was awesome. Good on ya, for writing it. It's really well written, child. Also, hope you're doing better, eating disorders = so very very bad. :]
