Oh, the things that get around on the internet.
These are real Twitter posts from various girls in regard to Chris Brown's domestic violence against Rihanna (posted because of his appearance at the Grammy's):

Now, of course, the reactions to them are mixed. Do I actually think any of those girls would truly like being beaten? No, I think they're just making an exaggerated statement about Chris Brown's attractiveness. That doesn't change the fact that those comments are stupid, oh yes they are. But people are making way too big of a deal out of comments that aren't serious.
Do you think this says anything about our society or are they truly just joking comments?

...Uh yes those comments do make women look bad. And they make me really sick. Abuse is not something to joke about like that. =/

I think both possible opinions here hit the head on the nail. These women don't really want to be beaten, but it makes them look stupid anyway.

I think once one girl posted that, the rest followed. I'm sure many of them just thought it was a witty and fun thing to post. And I guess we should factor in the idea that people are bolder online. We'll say things we don't usually say.
I swear some people can't take a joke anymore. Wasn't some religious group filing a lawsuit against some late show person earlier or something? Yeesh. In this increasingly censored world, I think people neeeeeeeed to seriously lighten up.
The keyword here is discretion. If you know it's going to be harmful and offensive, try not to say it... (Unless it's important.) Sex appeal of Chris Brown? Nowhere near crucial. (He ain't even sexay. Blonde hair... Barf.)

Those girls are pathetic. I'm sure they don't mean to be offensive, but think how those comments would make you feel if you saw them and your boyfriend actually DID beat you. And even though I haven't really been a fan of Chris since the incident, think about how he must feel. Yea, he did a really shitty thing, but it was a long time ago. He knows what he did was wrong and probably just wants to move on with his life. Rihanna too. And that's kind of hard to do when people keep bringing it up.

The people who wrote these are truly sad and pathetic women and it does say something when women joke about allowing someone to perpetrate domestic violence against them just because that person looks good. It is twisted. Women in my family have suffered form domestic abuse and it has even been sad that it would not be a surprise if my sister ended up with a violent partner due to her fix-them-all! personality. They would never let this happen again, they would rather die, and one of these amazing women now puts disgusting men like this behind bars. No one should joke about something like this and, in my opinion, especially not a woman no matter how good-looking the man/woman is.

Not only does it make those women look pathetic and affects people's views of women in general. It says something about society if there are people out their stupid enough to think
1- That's not a bad thing to say.
2- That a guy can be accepted back into society based on society.

No. I think it just makes THOSE women look bad O_O especially the one that was like, "i dont see what Rihanna was complaining about" or something likethat. I read that and i was thinking, "uhm yea, i think physical abuse may have had a little something to do with all her 'complaining'" i think they're mixing up S&M with full out abuse.

That's stupid. Just... Stupid...

Okay, I just spent 20 minutes reading the arguing people were doing about the article in the comments section.
Literally THE most depressing garbage I've ever had the misfortune of seeing. :/
The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. Oh, look, something for me to rant about!
Yes, they make women look bad. They also make our society look bad. In an ideal society, Chris Brown would not have been able to make a come back. It's kind of sickening that he's allowed to perform on the Grammy's and that there's a fanbase willing to watch it and cheer him on. Just because he's famous doesn't mean that he should be excused for what he did. Nobody should be excused for what he did. I'm all for forgiveness, but I am definitely not for forgetting.
