Hi, everybody.
So, starting to say that my name here is Lucas and I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - which is called here "Cidade Maravilhosa" wonderful city in Portuguese. I am 17 years old and by 2 years I've been struggling with the question of my sexuality, which is not solved yet... However, there must be an answer for it, just need to figure out myself - even though, help is always welcome. I found this site while googling gay teens in order to find somebody at my age to talk to - seriously, that was my reason, not any dirty stuff - so I entered this site and started reading some of post in the forum and blogs and I felt a great sympathy and empathy for people here who have problems similar to mine and, finally, created the courage the sing in - even if it is in English and my mother's tongue is Portuguese, but the way this work here just made me go for it.
I think it was enough for an introduction, but if there are any doubt about me, I will gladly answer them.
P.S.: Sorry about any mistake due to my inability with your language and I will not mind being corrected
"E eu vos direi: "Amai para entendê-las!
Pois só quem ama pode ter ouvido
Capaz de ouvir e de entender estrelas."
Olavo Bilac - Via Láctea nº 13
My rough translation of this part of the sonnet:
"And I say to you: love to understand them
As only who loves can have ears
Capable of hearing and understanding the stars"

'What a silly thing Love is,' said the Student as he walked away. 'It is not half as useful as Logic, for it does not prove anything, and it is always telling one of things that are not going to happen, and making one believe things that are not true. In fact, it is quite unpractical, and, as in this age to be practical is everything, I shall go back to Philosophy and study Metaphysics.'

Hey~ What's up dude? Carioca, huh?

Welcome aboard! I'm Wes, from São Paulo (Put your hands up for Brazil! ;P).

I'd love to write you a long post in Portuguese too (as I suck at English big time), but I won't! Just so you can see people here won't bother if you speak good English (like you do!) or not (like I do).

I found this place the same way you did, and even though I'm not very active here, I can totally say you'll enjoy it here and everybody will help you a lot with whatever you need!

So that's it! Have a good time~

Até mais~

Hey Lucas! Don't worry about the language thing. A lot of people here didn't have English as a first language including me, mine was Spanish. Anyways you should like it here. Everyone is friendly and always has great advice!
"Are you ok?" "Yeah... I'm just tired." T orn apart, I nsecure, R eally faking a smile, E xtremely sad, D rowning in my tears "...yeah just tired."

Hey Lucas!

I'm a little bit late to greet you in, but I'll do it anyway.

I'm Krys, from Rio Grande do Sul. (As Wes would say, put your hands up for Brazil!)

By the number of threads you've already posted, I can see you're already quite comfortable with the forums - which is great!

Hope you keep the collaboration at that high level! And, of course, feel free to PM if you'd like to talk.

Have a great time at QA! =)

Hi Lucas, welcome to QA. I'm Jessie, I'm 18, from England and I'm a lesbian.

Figuring out sexuality and stuff like that can be tough, I mean we've all gone through it on here, but the important thing is not to feel like you have to come up with a decision as soon as possible. Stick to your own timescale, don't feel rushed to declare or decide anything about yourself; it took me two years of basically ignoring it before I properly realised/accepted I was gay!

Also, your English is fantastic, and don't worry about making mistakes, everyone knows what you mean Emoticon: Smile :) Seriously, if you heard me speaking Portuguese, you would be ashamed- I find Spanish much easier, but then I have been learning that for 5 years and Portuguese for only half a year!

Have fun round the forums, talk to people, makes posts and get involved Emoticon: Smile :) stick around till you can get into chat, that's when you can get into our crazy little world Emoticon: Smile :) (seriously, we are a bit nuts in there!). If you ever need anything or just fancy a chat, just message me
