I was looking at the Lesbian Stereotypes topic and I thought it was funny that it's a lesbian stereotype to want a pet monkey. So what pet did you want as a kid? This pet could be real or imaginary.
I always wanted a pet monkey until I watched an Oprah episode that said monkeys eventually attack their owners.

I wanted a dog actually. But then I got one, and I didn't like him. I also wanted a pet sting ray.... that wouldn't have worked out well.
Now, I just like cats and rats.

I've always wanted a Turtle and a Llama
Instead I have
A cat that thinks she's a mouse
A dog who looks like she could be mixed with a Giraffe/she could be a mini Doberman,
And
Another dog who could almost be a disposal unit/vacuum/puppy despite the fact that he's about 13 years old...
just give me a reason/just a little bit's enough/just a second, we're not broken/just bent we can learn to love again/oh, it's in the stars/it's been written in the scars on our hearts/we're not broken/just bent we can learn to love again.

Honestly? I wanted a snake. I was a strange child. XD
I still think snakes are pretty much the coolest thing to ever walk (slither?) this earth. But I wouldn't want to own one.
Instead I have two cats...one of them is fat and she thinks she rules the world...and one of them is a baby kitten that likes to chew my hair....strange. I know. XD
The caged bird stands on a grave of dreams
His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.
The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
Of things unknown, but longed for still
And his tune is heard on a distant hill
For the caged bird
Sings of freedom.

@Cristina O.O Seriously? Is that what they talk about on Oprah? Hm. *shrugs* Oh well.
Uh. I wanted a turtle... And I got one but I ACCIDENTALLY killed it by leaving it in the pool and it got caught in the filter... I was really upset. His name was Tommy. RIP.

I'm going to break the mode of "real" pets, cause growing up I knew I would NEVER be able to have a REAL pet (my mom doesn't really like animals in the house). So, being the child I was I wanted a pet Phoenix...or a Dragon...or really anything that was awesome (and mainly dealt with fire). I also wanted a "pet" mermaid...but those aren't really "pets", they would be more like "friends".

I have ALWAYS wanted to domesticate a big kitty. Like a snow leopard cub, I'd raise him like a kid. And they're so cute! Baby snow leopards make me melt inside lol. also, a regular kitty would do... But my dad only hates one thing more than gay people, and that's kitties. :,(( fail.

I've always wanted a cat, even as a young child. Six years ago, I finally got an adorable black Bombay cat. He is very elegant and has even frightened people because he walks and looks identical to a small black panther. He's also quite large, heavy and extremely muscular for a domestic cat. But he's still my little Fleabag. ^____^
