Is there a way to delete posts?

I'd assume that being given the editing option would serve the same purpose. Although your post will stay, you have the option to change what you've said.

I believe that you only have an hour to edit your posts.

Sadly, you can't completely delete the post unless it's nescessary, and that can only be done by moderators.
As Christian said, you can edit your posts, but only in the same hour you posted them (EDIT: I think Oliver already mentioned that). So if you made an embarrassing typo or thought you can express your thought in another way, there is a solution for that.

Thanks guys! No, it was just something I posted without thinking. It's not really necessary to delete, just made a bit of an ass out of myself

xD Cool, I didn't know I only had an hour to edit my posts. I'm so glad I remembered to correct -if not apologize for- all the misplaced ones within that hour XD. I hate forgetting.

Yeah, you can't go around changing what you've said in the past. And we definitely don't want to suffer from missing posts syndrome. Both have negative consequences for the intelligibility of threads and also the trustworthiness of the contributions.
