Bwar har ^_^ I love sad songs
here's one I've been listening to a lot lately;
Dixie Chicks Travelin' Soldier Lyrics
Two days past eighteen
He was waitin' for the bus in his army greens
Sat down in a booth a caf? there
Gave his order to the girl with a bow in her hair
He's a little shy so she gave him a smile
And he said would you mind sittin' down for a while
And talkin' to me I'm feelin' a little low
She said I'm off in an hour and I know where we can go
So they went down and they sat on the pier
He said I bet you got a boyfriend but I don't care
I've got no one to send a letter to
Would you mind if I sent one back here to you?
I cried
Never gonna hold the hand of another guy
Too young for him they told her
Waitin' for the love of a travelin' soldier
Our love will never end
Waitin' for the soldier to come back again
Never more to be alone
When the letter says a soldier's comin home
So the letters came
From an army camp
In California then Vietnam
And he told her of his heart
It might be love
And all of the things he was so scared of
Said when it's gettin kinda rough over here
I think about that day sittin' down at the pier
And I close my eyes and see your pretty smile
Don't worry but I won't be able to write for a while
I cried
Never gonna hold the hand of another guy
Too young for him they told her
Waitin' for the love of a travelin' soldier
Our love will never end
Waitin' for the soldier to come back again
Never more to be alone
When the letter says a soldier's coming home
(Martie's fiddle break - Emily's dobro break)
One Friday night at a football game
The Lord's Prayer said and the anthem sang
A man said folks would you bow your heads
For the list of local Vietnam dead
Cryin' all alone under the stands
Was a piccolo player in the marching band
And one name read and nobody really cared
But a pretty little girl with a bow in her hair
I cried
Never gonna hold the hand of another guy
Too young for him they told her
Waitin' for the love of a travelin' soldier
Our love will never end
Waitin' for the soldier to come back again
Never more to be alone
When the letter says a soldier's comin
I cried
Never gonna hold the hand of another guy
Too young for him they told her
Waitin' for the love of a travelin' soldier
Our love will never end
Waitin' for the soldier to come back again
Never more to be alone
When the letter says a soldier's comin home
Feel free to contribute

The 2 songs that are the sadest to me are "Suicide Is Painless" by Johnny Mandel and "Broken" by Seether feat. Amy Lee. I don't feel like posting the lyrics to either right now though.

Enough to keep you awake for hours, or asleep for days.

"Allison" by Elvis Costello, "Yesterday" by The Beatles and Johnny Cash's version of "Desperado." Heartbreaking.
Who are you going to believe? The homosexuals or the man who spun round and touched his nose?

I'm a sucker for depressing music in general - wonder what that says about me?
Favourite sad songs - hmm - I could be here for hours, hehe. Some random ones of the top of my head:
REM - all of Automatic For The People - fav being Nightswimming
Bif Naked - Lucky
Jimmy Eat World - Hear You Me
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism
Yup, that'll do
When I was young / I didn't know if I was better off asleep or up
Now I've grown up / I wonder what was that world I was dreaming of? Nada Surf

Johnny Cash - Hurt is a fantastic song. My sister and I covered it once, heh.
I'm gonna put out an unusual one and say that Chopin's Prelude in E Minor is one of the most depressing pieces I've ever heard.

First Day Of My Life by Bright Eyes is a heartbreaker, but also incredibly uplifting. It has the most beautiful video as well

Actually Johnny Cash's Hurt is a cover as well . He didn't come up with that song , it was originally a song by Nine Inch Nails so in other words Trent Reznor created it . But Johnny Cash sure did rock .
Now as far as sad songs are concerned I have loads . Alot of the post Black Celebration stuff from Depeche Mode is dark and depressing and sad .
Placebo are also often sad "Song to Say Goodbye" is a good one.
I'm a goth so I life for dark and sad music . lol

People think I'm mad... I have a playlist full of 'Happy Songs' and another full of 'Sad Songs' and then I play whichever suits my mood. Only problem is, if I'm feeling sad already, the sad songs bring me to tears.
Anyway, moving swiftly on, here are a few of my 'Sad Songs'
Autumn Leaves - Eva Cassidy
Enigma & Nimrod - Elgar
Fields of Gold - Eva Cassidy (again!)
Moonlight Sonata - Beethoven
Two Beds and a Coffee Machine - Savage Garden (the lead singer of which, for some reason, always reminds me of our very own Grum... okay, yes, I must be blind)

I hate sad songs...they make me think too much about what I wish I could have, what I don't have, and the like. There's only one I ever listened to voluntarily and that was "Swing, Swing" by All American Rejects, and that was only because someone sent it to me over MSN. Made me cry when I heard it because I couldn't be with him...

Oh Tyler I've heard that before from someone else . lol
I know Radiohead . Pretty decent band and actually somewhat Depeche Mode inspired but I'm not a huge fan of Radiohead because they're usually a bit too subtle for my taste .

"Those to Come" The Shins
"The Long and Winding Road" The Beatles
"For No One" Beatles
"And Your Bird Can Sing" Beatles
"Wonderwall" Oasis
