A friend of mine has another friend of whom I do not know that only has a little bit of time left before he dies. How do I deal with this? I don't want to do or say anything that may hurt her and it would just be so much more easier for me to just walk away and it's all confusing. We don't even know each other all that well but I don't know what to do! Any advice?

Just make it obvious to her that you're there for her in her hard time. So if she needs to talk she can just come to you. You won't even have to advise her on how to handle it, just be there to listen. It's the best thing you can offer someone, just your time to listen. (:

^ Agreed.
In the last three months, one of my friends has lost five people unexpectedly. She's also one of those people who doesn't always want to be seen when she's upset, much less touched, and since I've never lost anyone I didn't know what to do at first. But I stuck by her side, quite literally in some cases, and just let her know that I would always be there as a shoulder to cry on if nothing else. Its worked for us, and I imagine even if you aren't that close that she will appreciate it.
