I smelled him today. I was laughing and having a great time playing miniature gold with two of the best people in my life. And then I caught scent of that memory. That wonderful smell that reminds me only of him and that so little time we spent together.
I'll only ever smell it on the wind now and for that I cannot help but weep.
By the time you finish reading this sentence, I'll be one step closer.

I hate having certain scents associated with memories.
My ex boyfriend always wore a very specific cologne. And right in the middle of my history midterm, a week after the break up, I caught a whiff of the stuff... Very distracting and uncool, I tell ya.
So I understand what you mean.

Smell is the most powerfull sense for dragging up memories, my grandma used to wear a specific sort of perfume (it had musk in it's name i think) and when she died my sisters got all the perfume she'd been hoarding. Which meant months of grandma being all over my nostrils. The experience did desensitise me though sooo, i'm not sure if that's a good thing.
