Hi guys,
Print fun for promo heaven!
Robin and I have been working on posters that you can print and distribute -- all in the name of promoting this here community website! In all honesty, we could really use some promotion but we're in a tricky spot because, as we provide this service for free, we don't have any money This way, you guys spend the money whilst getting a warm and fuzzy feeling from the good work that you're doing. How does that sound?
We've included a guide though, on each file, which you need to read; it's really important that you use these posters responsibly.
So, without further ado...

If you are able to help us out in this way, that really would be fantastic. We're always working behind the scenes to ensure that QA remains a sustainable community but at the end of the day, it's you guys, the members, that we rely upon to keep QA going strong.
Why not take pics of your pinned-up posters and upload them to QA Gallery? Let us know that you've helped out.
Thanks very much,
G.

These are really cool. I'm a library helper at my downtown library in the teen section so I'mma ask if I can post them up there

There are definitely poster boards on my college campus and town, and I am familiar with the location of most of them.
I'm going home (and back in the closet) tomorrow morning for Thanksgiving break, but I'll make a mental note for when I get back.

It's a pleasure to know that these posters and materials will help you guys spread the word about the community that you love, so that more people can get involved and benefit from our brilliant site.
If you think that we can provide any other support that will help you promote QA, tell us what you need and we'll see what we can do.
Thank you for your efforts

I have an LGBT society committee meeting tomorrow evening. And as the Communications Officer, I'm pretty much in charge of promotions and posters etc. So I'll see what I can do. If the rest of the committee agrees, every available surface around the college and Students Union building will be plastered with these posters.
I'll also see if I can get in touch with some other colleges close by. And maybe a few international contacts of mine from other online LGBT communities.
As an aside, my personal blog is now sporting a QA banner.

Thank you to anyone who's put these up so far and if you haven't yet, get on it!
When you've put some up, we'd love to see some Gallery exhibitions with your QA-filled displays!

Aaaaah, this is amazing! If I get a chance, I'm definitely going to print some of these out and ask them to be put up around my college and so on

Does it have to be an educational or center place I post these? The only place like that is my school... and my school, while very LGBT friendly (our vice principal was intense about Day of Silence), is not really open to us putting up random fliers. That's kinda sorta reserved for school events, sadly, and school related. I doubt third party promotion would go down well.
Also, I'm not in the GSA, because our school's so chill that ours isnt' really needed, so nearly nobody attends. It's mainly this one junior who bugs the crap out of me, personality-wise.
You're stubborn, hard headed, sheltered, impatient, angry, and altogether you irritate and frustrate me more than anyone else on the planet. I love you.

I think a lot of schools will be the same.
You're not restricted to educational centres, though. Universities, colleges and youth clubs are the best opportunities for promotion, and perhaps even libraries, but if you have other options open to you then by all means consider them.
Indeed, if any readers have other suggestions for places, then share 'em. It's a collaborative project.

Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to put posters up in school unless it's for school events.
But! I have a sneaky plan; sending them out to every form group via notice packs. I'll have to seek permission from... Well, I'm not entirely sure who it is that I need to speak to, but I'll find out and print a bunch off =)

Oh! Another idea. At the start of every year during first year registration 'freshers packs' are handed out. They're kind of students survival kits I guess. But there's loads of information about the college, activities, clubs and societies etc in each kit. I was talking to the other committee members in my LGBT society about putting our own little flyer in there with our contact details. (We're working on increasing the visibility of the society on campus.)
Maybe I could ask if a QA poster/flyer could be put in each too?

Freshers packs is actually a really good idea. It's easy to drop in an extra flyer, if you create your own packs anyway -- clubs with sponsorship do it all the time. By all means, see what the committee says. If it's put together by the the main students' association though, it might be harder to get permission because we're not affiliated? Check it out, see what the deal is
If you need A5 flyers, or any other size, let us know.

Usually the freshers packs are organised by the Students Union and First Year Reps. But they have a tendency to throw everything and anything into them such as free passes for nightclubs, shopping vouchers etc. So it's not purely for college related things. I got a free packet of noodles in mine.. So I'll see what their president says.
If we can't put them in with the Students Union freshers pack, I could always enquire about making our own ones like you suggested. I'm pretty sure we could fill a bag with LGBT related stuff without too much hassle.

Given it's summer now and the new school year soon, can I bump this and persuade anyone to help spread the word?
Cheers guys!
