I posted something a while ago, and I was wondering if there was any way to delete it.. Just wondering.

Once you've contributed to a community, you can't take it back. However, if you've posted something that will adversely affect your privacy, message a Staff member with the relevant details and we'll endeavour to remove it for you.

May I add that directly asking a member of Staff will not change this unless it affects your privacy, as Grum said.

there's no privacy issue, it was just something that changed drastically since i posted.. but it's not a huge deal.

The reason we don't delete every thread/post that is requested to do so is simple. QA is meant to reflect real life interactions as much as possible. Keeping this in mind, if you say something in a real interaction it can't be taken back. This is the same reason you can only edit a post an hour after it's creation. It gives you a chance to edit any spelling or grammatical errors, but doesn't give you the ability to delete it after you think about what you've posted. I hope that makes sense Emoticon: Grin :D

I seem to have triple posted somewhere. Stupid me, I know. But I can't delete them.

I believe Grum & co. got a system in place a while back that automatically removes duplicate posts, as long as they're still duplicates and haven't been edited to say, for example, "oops double post." So if you double/triple post you should be able to just leave it alone and the situation will be rectified soon.

It's always weird to read posts you made from a long time ago .... anyway..

Just to reiterate, if you make a double (or triple) post, don't edit any of the text in either post (to state that it was a double post) and the system should clean it up.

PS: Way to use your resources before posting a new topic, Leo. Much appreciated.
