Here, my lovelies, is a link to Stephen Fry's response to a letter from a cynical and insolent young man: himself, at age 16.
The letter, in Fry's typical style, is riddled with his infuriatingly vast vocabulary, and his subtle sense of irony. I do find it somewhat uplifting, at least at the parts I can understand.
I guess it raises an interesting question which could be exploited easily for use in a Youth Forum: If you could speak to yourself, from the future or the past, what would you say?
Your very own hospital room, stocked full of pills and needles.
Enough to keep you awake for hours, or asleep for days.

That was uplifting, in a way, I agree, and relatable as well.
It makes me wonder what the world will hold for me in thirty-five years. Should I try to remember that most every adult laughs at their teenage self's emotions and calm myself down? Or should I continue to criticize my life and place in the world in hopes of improvement? Will the world's tolerance continue on this path or, like he implied, is it under threat from bigotry again?
I don't know what I would say to my 17 year old self years from now, because I don't know how right or wrong I am.
