Would you holiday/vacation in a country where homosexual behavour is illegal?
Homosexual conduct is currently illegal in over 80 countries with punishment ranging from fines and deportation to imprisonment and even the death penalty. Then there are countries where, although it's not illegal, there's a culture of discrimination and exclusion.
For details of the laws from country to country please see the Wikipedia article Homosexuality laws of the world.
I know I won't be planning holidays to Barbados, Egypt, Jamaica or Sri Lanka anytime soon — to name a few. What's your view?

Yeah, I guess I would. But I wouldn't have sex, duh. Lol. Yet on the other hand, giving money to a country which persecutes my human rights, I don't know...

i wouldn't go.
it'd be too hard to hide myself.
and i mean, i'm out
so i'm done with hiding.
plus...i'd totally forget
and do something in public..like check someone out...or make a gay joke
and then i'd be screwed.
haha. =]
One-by-one we can help hold each of our hands against the world's bleeding wounds. We are the kind of people that actually care, we are not apathetic. We will do more than just watch, we will help. We want to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. We stand up for what we believe in. We want to see an immense change in the world, because we know that there is a big difference in the way the world is, and the way it should be.

Yeah, but I would have to control myself. I would totally immerse myself, like dress Muslim or whatever (anywhere with Sharia Law).

I'd have no problem but like the poll says I wouldn't expect a holiday romance.
The only serious discrimination in Ireland is that men who've had gay sex can't donate blood. So gay's ok, just don't do anything about it. I'm fairly certain that's a shared policy by way too many countries though.

Of course I would go! I wanna see India and Egypt and other places like that. I know how to act around homophobes. Just bust out my little pocket-closet and hide in there while I enjoy the sites.

Probably. I wouldn't live there, but for vacation? Depends if they actually persecute you if you are a tourist. I'm sure some countries are more lenient. I mean, I practically live in a country where things are just starting to get better. Wasn't the sodomy law just rendered null and void in 2003?
Yea, I don't think it would affect my decision.
Also, it's funny how Europe is so fucking gay friendly compared to the rest of the world. So happy to be going there in a year

Well, go to every country apart from England (only in the cities actually). Some places are nice, Norwich, and other small cities. CHAVs aren't really too homo-friendly . What I mean is, PDA are a bit of a no-no in front of CHAVs.

Are you trying to say that homophobic attitudes don't exist in England?

No, but you have to admit, England isn't generally as homophobic as a lot of places. Like America.

No not as, but would you hold hands with your significant other through a CHAVy area?

I guess I wouldn't mind visiting such countries. After all there is the culture, art, foods, traditions, etc... that I would be interested in exploring. I guess I'd have to compromise for that and pretend I'm straight for the duration of my visit.

No Sammidude, I was responding to jdg369's post in which he commented Europe is gay friendly in comparison.

No, I wouldn't. I would go to somewhere in Europe like Sweden or Norway, where it is, for the most part, widely accepted, so that I could actually enjoy my vacation.

I'm not saying there aren't homophobic attitudes, just that Europe in general has a better stance on the issues, at least compared to the US. I'll be going to Spain, France, and Italy next summer and homosexual behavior is legal in all of those countries and there are anti-discriminatory laws.

Why are y'all putting so much focus on England? There's a LOT more to Europe than just England.
