UK: "I'm Coming Out" tonight on Current TV On Monday 24th May at 10pm Current TV (Virgin Media 155, Sky 183) premieres I'm Coming Out, a new original one-hour documentary which follows two men at very different stages in their lives as they explore the possibility of revealing their true sexuality to their friends and families.

Ahmad, is 24-year-old gay man who was born in Cairo and was raised in Gaza before moving to Scotland in his teens. He now lives a very openly gay life in London. Despite his own comfort and openness with his sexuality, his family doesn't know that he is gay. What complicates Ahmad's situation further is the fact that they are Muslim. The film follows his attempt to reconcile his sexuality with the religion he was brought up with and his family, who he hopes will finally accept him.

Neil, on other hand, is a 55-year-old British man who has spent his entire life in the closet, fearful of homophobia and the people he loves not accepting him for who he is. Having only had casual encounters and short-lived flings he has had limited experience of the gay community and long lasting relationships. Throughout the course of the film he comes out to friends, ex-colleagues and finally to his brother in Aberdeen.

Filmed over several months the documentary is a sensitive and moving portrait of two men struggling for acceptance.

Current TV do quite a few bits on gay things, don't they? I'm sure I've watched gay documentries before Emoticon: Smile :)

They're usually on later at night thought, and I'm meant to be asleep haha

This sounds like a good documentary to watch if you're looking for inspiration or encouragement on coming out Emoticon: Smile :)

Love is the most poweful emotion - there is, and should always be, an abundance of love and happiness in the world; it can overcome anything.

I saw the trailer, this looks really interesting. I wish that I had this channel, but I don't, hopefully I'll be able to find it online. It's so interesting to me that some people wait that long before coming out.
