Mark Friedman is an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. He has a grant to study LGBTQ youth online and he is now writing another application to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to develop an online program for LGBTQ teenagers.
Mark is gathering lots of data before deciding what intervention to propose to NIMH. The most important source of information is LGBTQ teenagers themselves. The question is: If you were developing an online program for LGBTQ youth to prevent them from abusing substances, becoming depressed, engaging in high risk sexual behavior, what type of program would you develop? Another way to look at this is if you were developing an online program just to promote the well-being of LGBTQ youth, what would you do? If you're willing to tell Mark what you think, please email him at msf11@pitt.edu or call him at 412-624-3506. If you email, he can call you back so that he pays for the phone call or can just talk online. Whatever you prefer. views: 11304 responses: 1 posted by queerattitude on Tuesday 18 May 2010 at 7:33PM BlogResponse
