Uncomfortable Well, last week I came out to my school. Hooray! (Or not... Depends on how you look at it.)

Well, I found out that my school is now a part of Stonewall thanks to a lesbian couple that work there so hopefully homophobia will be taken more seriously than it was last year. (Last year, I actually had the support manager tell me that what I was going through was a phase. Thanks for that! =.=)

They ended up organising a Q&A about me being trans with my tutor group which didn't really solve anything. I still got asked the same stupid questions whilst doing my work and I still facepalmed at them.

One thing they did say in the meeting was that I couldn't use the mens bathroom because "it would make the other students uncomfortable". Really? So it's better for me to feel absolutely terrible and uncomfortable as hell (I'm actually debating not using the bathroom at all in school.) then for a couple of transphobes to get pissed off? It's not like I'd be doing anything in there other than what you'd normally do in a bathroom anyway! *facepalm*

Although I'm more confident now than ever before, it still annoys me no end that they want me to use the girls bathroom. Why?! -_-

I say just don't use the bathroom at all. I mean, it's important to stand up for yourself in any area of your life you think is important, but a school bathroom has to be the least stand-up-worthy place ever. Janitors can mop 'em up all they want, it doesn't change the fact that the entire room is probably covered in bodily fluids. I just go once before school and once after.

I'm in uni now so the situation is different but if your school bathrooms are anything like ours were, especially the boys', then you should probably just go at home anyway. School boys' toilets are the most disgusting places on this planet, bar none.
if I don't make sense that means i'm sleepy, if i'm awake that means i'm sleepy.

I'm not sure if you are allowed to in your school but if you can just go in the nurses office. It makes it less uncomfortable.

I don't know what your geographic area is, but you should see if your school district, or state has some type of non-discrimination policy. If you don't get support on that, you should let me know. I'm currently working with my district to craft up a new non-discrimination policy.

@Ashley Nah, not allowed. We don't even have a school nurse!

@Codie Since I'm in the UK, I'm pretty sure that they have a non-discrimination policy.
Well I'd hope so, at least...
