Blog Entry: I Hate My Job
Entry
I Hate My Job
I honestly hate working in fast food. It's such hard work. And the stupid bus was late so I didn't have time to get my coffee which means I'm pretty much useless. I got three peoples orders wrong and I kept getting yelled at for doing things that nobody had told me I wasn't allowed to do. Last week I was told that if I ran out of buns, I could go get some in the back. So I went to get some today when there were no customers and my manager yelled at me and told me to stay at my station. She also got mad at me for not talking loud enough. Considering my throat feels like it's on fire, she's lucky I could talk at all. This morning, for a second I though the bus was going to run into the bus in the lane next to us and I was disappointed that it didn't because if I got in a big bus accident, I'd have a legitimate excuse to miss work. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?
I really regret ever applying for this job. I want to quit, but I can't. I just wanted some extra cash, but last time I got paid I only ha 20 dollars spending money left after putting hal in my savings account and buying my mom a birthday present. And I've been so exhausted from working all the time that I haven't even gotten around to playing the game I bought with that last twenty dollars. So I have no money, no time, and I'm miserable.
Awesome.

Things will get better! Just curious, which fast food do you work?

I feel your pain -___- I get yelled at a lot and I constantly do something that I didn't even know was against the rules D: I don't exactly like my job but I'd rather put up with it while looking for another one that I'd enjoy.
I'm also curious where you work? I work at Burger King by the way haha

My dad works in retail, and he told me once that jobs like that always have lots of hidden rules, including ones that conflict each other. You're always doing something wrong, even if nobody ever told you. That way, they always have an excuse to fire someone.
Of course, he's also terribly cynical at times, so he may have been joking.

I can walk on water
I can fly
I will keep on fighting 'till I die

I actually recently got out of a job as a manager in fast food. XD It can be horribly stressful and contradictory but a job is a job unfortunately. Luckily, the experiences from that job allowed me to get a waitress job at a medium-end restaurant where I make twice as much as a manager at my last job.
Unfortunately, most people will sometime have a job they hate and fast food is definitely a hard job to love.

When times are hard, it's always useful to keep things in perspective.
So your boss yelled at you... don't take it personal, they're only in it for the money too.
So you "screwed up"... So what a lousy customer was waiting for 30 seconds to order a heart attack between two buns? HEAVEN FORBID SOMEONE WAITED ON YOU TO GET BUNS!
So you quit... what's the worst that could happen? You get paid social security for a few weeks while getting a new job. As long as it's not permanent, it will get you by. (That's what it's made for)
Honestly, good health is the most important. If you are so stressed and anxious over a shitty job, it's not worth dying 10 years earlier from a stress-induced heart attack. I know that sounds silly and over dramatic but it's a real problem among today's society! Everyone is miserable!
Of course what do I know? I'm a 15 year old who has never worked a day in her life, coming from an upper middle class household.
