Blog Entry: I WAS HIT BY A FREAKING CAR!!!

I WAS HIT BY A FREAKING CAR!!! I was riding my bike home from my volunteer shift at the library a little after 8 o'clock. I was going downhill towards this 4-way crosswalk not too far from my house. The walk light is almost always on for the path I want to go here so I wasn;t worried. But I still checked to make sure it was on. It was. I see this car begin to pull up but I wasn't too worried. Cars, in my experience, always stop at crosswalks when the walk light is on. I still tried to make eye contact with her though, just to be safe.
I saw she waslooking the opposite direction to look for cars and hadn't seen me. She was still moving. Byt the time I realized she wasn't gunna stop, I was too close and moving too fast top brake. I flew out in front of her and she saw me at the last second. She hit the brake but she still nicked my bike, which sent me flying.
It all went so fast, but according to an eye witness, I flew off my bike and landed pretty hard. I managed to stand up and shikily walk my bike to the side of the road. I was shaking pretty bad from shock. I remembered knowing I was gunna get hit them I was on the asphalt. I was all like "What? O.o"
Being a decent person, the lady instantly jumped out of her car and began to flip out. Before I knew it I had a crow of people who knew me who stopped, police officers, EMT's, hospital, and even random people in a crowd around me. I called my parents and they said they were across town and would be therein 10 minutes....
I was poked, prodded, had my blood pressure taken and generally felt up by EMT's and ambulance people. All the while I kept saying I was fine. I knew I didn't break anything.
My parents arrived soon and we went home. So, yeah. That's the end of that.
My injuries are as follows: a scrape on my chin, a scrape on my elbow, a bruise on my chest, a welt on my left leg where the handlebar hit it, and i REALLY big goose-egg on my right leg where the handlebar hit it. But don't worry, the swelling's gone down ^w^;;
