Blog Entry: Graduation

Graduation
I'm really scared for June, the end of June, it'll be my last month in high school. Even though I didn't like my high school experience it's going to be fucking scary knowing I'm going off to college in September.
It's not like I'm going off alone, my sister's going to the same school, but we're taking different programs so we'll never have a class together. Which is fine, I'm tired of us being lumped together.
I've never been on my own before and it's really scary to think about having to fend for myself, having to get a job to support myself, having to keep up with classes because I can actually fail out of this school.
Anyway, on to today. I got my graduation pictures done forever ago, before my mom would let me shave my head and whatnot, so my hair was ew. My sister came with me when I got them done and we took one together and it turned out pretty good, besides the fact we both looked like derps. Anyway, I got them back today and we usually don't usually take a lot of pictures together so it's weird having a picture with someone else in it. We're twins..but you'd never guess, I'm so much taller than her, and in that picture she's wearing her 'tall shoes' So it makes up some height difference.
We look nothing alike and have completely different personalities.
Oop, this got off subject.
Anyway. I'm excited/scared/nervous/anxious/ to graduate.
But I'm super excited for it to finally be happening and I'll get to move out of this town.

Graduating is absolutely terrifying! Take it from someone who has been there. I couldn't WAIT to get away from the high school I attended, but I was extremely afraid of what came next. What if I fail college? What if I don't like my courses? What if I cannot find a job? All of these questions and many more will rack your brain for months to come.
However, graduating is a very huge step and you should be very proud of yourself for accomplishing such a task. College is hard, and finding a job is even harder, but you'll get there. College is a lot like any other bracket of schooling. The first day is nerve racking, you don't feel like you'll fit in, etc. But just like other schooling you'll find a person you click with, you'll really enjoy a class, hell, you might like all the people you like and enjoy all the classes you take. College is a fun time, don't be scared!

We have so much in common its kinda scary. Im a twin too, i do have a shaved head, I came up with alot of shit from my mom for it too, but that was earlier this year, although I had to wear a dress in my senior picture and it makes me nauscious to see it. Bec its not me. Its what the school wanted me to wear for uniformity. a lie. Me and my sister are going to the same college. My twin is the taller one though, 6'5". You do get lumped together as twins, people assume you have one identity, like you're one person. DONT ROOM WITH HER. She may be your best friend, and it may be easier to share one of everything, and you might want stability, especially being LGBT and not knowing about who your roomate will be, but you cant be seperate people mentally if you are never seperated physically. Make new friends. This might be hard if you're introverted like me, but find someone who you have something in common with and just talk with them about it. Its a great icebreaker. As for a job, look on your school website and see if they have a job board, I know mine has a list of jobs in the college and in the community, and its free to use. I just graduated yesterday, and believe me, its not a big deal. Sure, it'll be hot, and everyone will want your picture, and finals are shit, but once its over, the pressure all subsides. Stock yourself up with knowledge while you can. Think about what classes you want to take and do a little research at the library. Find a major where you could do homework for hours and not feel like shooting yourself. Find enriching things and even if you hate them, you at least know more than you started knowing, and you know why you dont want to take a course on the subject. If your campus is close, drive to it and go to the admissions office and ask them what you need to do, sometimes there are deadlines now for things like housing deposits or new student orientation. Ask if they can waive fees. Sometimes they will. Remember, your resources are only closed when someone says I dont want to help you anymore. and feel free to PM me, Im going through all this too, and I might not know everything, but I can sympathize, and Im not too bad at listening.
