Blog Entry: I'm so tired of this.

I'm so tired of this. I know in the past I've been one of those people who badgered people until they told me what I wanted to know. It was usually something as stupid as who they liked or a secret they didn't want to tell me. And now I look back and think, what the fuck? No one should be bothered into telling what they don't want to tell, or doing what they don't want to do. This has been brought to my mind more lately due to the fact that my friends do it... all the time. One of my friends, Jamie, is trying to get her ex-boyfriend to tell her if he still likes her back, because there are definite signs that he does. My S.O. is trying to get my other friend, Destin, to sing for her. I'm constantly annoyed by various people to let them read my notebook, where I ramble and write and talk about all of the horrible things going on in my brain.

But why? Why do people think it is their right to have people do things for them like this? I am so tired of finding excuses for nosy people so I don't have to tell them things they don't deserve to know. And I'm sick of watching people struggle and be uncomfortable because they don't know how to say no.

Why should Destin have to sing for us if she doesn't want to?Why should Matthew have to indulge Jamie if he doesn't feel comfortable doing so? Why should I have to let people see through the walls I've so carefully put up?

I just don't understand this entitlement people seem to think they have, this need to butt their heads into other peoples' business.

I am ashamed that I used to be like that. And I am trying really hard to not do it anymore, because I don't want to be that kind of person. Because I am simply tired of watching people do things they don't want to do because of peer pressure.
