Life Beyond the Screen- IMPORTANT MESSAGE Wow, two blog posts in one day, really? (Please don't make fun of my dinosaur computer shown in the picture. It serves it's purpose, okay?)

Okay, so here it goes... This is an important issue that I've been wanting to voice out. Irene was supposed to post a blog on this today, but seeing as she has an essay due tomorrow, she's having me post about the subject instead. I hope that those of you who read this will read all the way through and actually consider what we want to say.

It's a relief that here online we don't have to worry too terribly much about shyness, and it gives us a chance to reach out and actually interact with other people. However, it's also a shame that it will continue to remain on the virtual, cyber level. If only in real life, we could break that barrier and people were willing to give a person whom they no nothing about a chance. We can seem to talk to people on these screens all day, regardless where their from, if their tall, short, skinny, fat, weird, etc.

I feel like our sight as far as what we DO see outside of the screen shields us from reaching out to others. We already begin making judgements... yet why is it that we can go through a person's profile, find out they're on this or that, suicidal, cutting, etc and we're still willing to talk to that person. These screens have helped us break through that wall... if only it could be transferred into life beyond the screen.

As a socially awkward person myself, I am grateful for internet and allowing us to interact. Too bad it'll only stay behind the screens...

After realizing this reality, Kaon (Irene) and I have decided to take on a challenge... and that challenge is to reach out to someone you never thought you'd ever even associate yourself with. I'm already socially awkward enough as it is, so this'll be difficult for me. Irene is also pretty shy once she's by herself (as unbelieveable as it may seem, to those of you who know her).

I challenge you. Reach out. Explore the world beyond this stupid screen. Irene and I have agreed to a quota of 15 people. Your qupta is 1. Come one. I DARE you. We're taking up the challenge... will you...?

Yeah, sorry about this, Noa. I'll write the next two after this.

Anyway, yeah, as far as my own input, I also noticed that when people talk, no one ever makes eye contact anymore. Seriously, guys, are you talking to me, or the wall behind me? In addition to the challenge, you MUST MAKE EYE CONTACT!

I accept your challenge Emoticon: Smile :) and I hate it when people don't make eye contact. I mean I don't expect every second be eye contact but seriously! Haha my problem is I never break eye contact so while it's not awkward for me it is for them, haha maybe I should try casting curses where I have to maintain eye contact haha. Lol sorry I'm wierd when I'm exhausted but I had to say: I accept.

To live is to do what makes you happy not others. If what you love is different then stand against the tide of "normality" never stop fighting for happiness.
