Blog Entry: Are you gay from birth?

Are you gay from birth? One thing that I can't answer myself is whether i've been gay all my life or whether I made the choice.

One thing I've always known is that I was different. But from a young age I just thought i was weird and not the same as the other guys, I never liked football or other typical boy stuff, instead I liked Barbies and playing dress up. Also I've always wanted to be a fashion designer or a hairdresser (talk about stereotypes!) Oh and most importantly and probably the biggest clue I always liked men. Not just normal guys my age but like masculine men. Hah.

The only thing that makes me doubt whether I wasn't gay since coming out the oven is that I never made the conscious connection to being gay. It just never occurred to me and if it did it was something that I was pretty definite about not being. But I am now!! plus.. it's great I've never been more happy to be different.

So that's why it's hard for me to answer the question of 'have you known your whole life?' because the honest answer is no, i haven't. It's been a journey and a half
